AQUALASTIC 2K - Elastomeric Waterproofing Membrane Coating System
AQUALASTIC Polymer modified, Cementitious, Waterproofing Coating System which forms a highly elastic water impermeable membrane. It consists of a liquid and powder when mixed together forms an easily brushable coating.
AQUALASTIC can be easily applied by a stiff brush or a roller. It can withstand extreme weather condition and temperature.
AQUALASTIC can be effectively used on old and new concrete surface, precast slabs, a.c. roofs, vertical surface etc.
It is an ideal water proofing coating system for:
- Flat and sloped roofs.
- Water tanks and toilet sunken portions.
- Balconies, sunshades, Terraces & Parapet Walls
- Complicated structures like domes, arches, folded roofs, etc.
All surface which are to receive AQUALASTIC coating must be free from oil, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter bonding to the substrate. Cement latrine if any, should be removed by wire brushing / chipping and water washing. Pre-wet the surface with clean water before application.
AQUALASTIC - Compound - A and clean water should be mixed in the proportion of 1:1.
AQUALASTIC - Compound - B is added slowly, and stirred well to obtain smooth lump free consistency slurry.
The working time of AQUALASTIC depends on the temperature - at 30˚C pot life is about 30 minutes.
Over the prepared surface apply the well-mixed AQUALASTIC slurry with brush or broom. If used on smooth, screed floors, application can be done also by notched trowel and then level with a spiked roller. Do not apply more than 1 mm per layer. The next layer can be applied as soon as the preceding one is dry enough to be wiped i.e. as soon as it can be walked on, but it is recommended to wait overnight. AQUALASTIC can be sprayed also. The total thickness of 2 coats of AQUALASTIC would be 1.5 mm to 2 mm.
Homogeneous hardening and high waterproof are assured. AQUALASTIC does not dry too quickly; therefore it should be protected after application against heavy wind and intense sunshine.
Curing and hardening depends on the temperature. At 30˚C, AQUALASTIC floor is walkable after about 8 hours and resistant to mechanical stress after 3 days. Full hardening is reached after about 7 days. After this time, the coating resists permanent water pressure.
